Introduction
My name is Jamey Bearden, and I am in the Master's Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Spring 2015 and will graduate Fall 2017. I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2006 with a BacheIor's degree in Spanish Education. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching Spanish at Dawson County High School.
For the past 10 years, I have continued to teach Spanish I, II, III and IV to 10th through 12th grade students at DCHS. I have also been coaching the Lady Tigers Varsity Tennis Team for the past 5 years.
I researched various colleges for my post-graduate degree and several positive recommendations led me to KSU's Master's Degree Program in Instructional Technology. My ultimate goal is to incorporate various methods of technology in my classroom to better facilitate learning amongst my students and eventually to obtain a job as a technology coach. I plan to continue with my education by pursuing my Specialist's degree in Instructional Technology at KSU.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
